Lila Volkas herself has a passion for food that fuels the body, eating consciously and balanced. She explores topics in the various ways we can nourish ourselves though her freelance food writing. Her articles are often accompanied by illustrations that capture the essence of everything from a turnip to the process of digestion with clean and whimsical lines. Much of Lila’s inspiration comes from her tremendous love for vegetables, as well as her knack for anthropomorphizing what she eats.
And don’t worry, you don’t need to go out and buy all the equipment for the class as students will learn about the history of kombucha, the health benefits of the drink, and be given all the tools needed to make the drink at home! All attendees will receive a kombucha starter kit including: a brewing vessel, SCOBY, starter liquid, sample tea, cloth cover, and illustrated instructions.
// The workshop will be $50 and held from 7:15-8:45 pm, March 20th. Tickets are available on Eventbrite. 546 Grand Ave, Oakland, oaktownspiceshop.com.
