There’s a long list of fragile things ranging from an egg sitting in the crate to a glass jar on the table, just about anything that would not maintain its original state when handled roughly, but of all these, LIFE remains the most fragile.

Have you ever wonder how fragile life is?

I lost my friend Mariam last year September to COVID-19, and for once, I thought about the ideal picture of life: the pithy nature of life, how is it that someone with so much vigor and vitality could lie lifeless within the twinkle of an eye. I saw Mariam 8 days before she died, and she was so healthy and lively as always.

This experience changed my life entirely; I began to ask questions and seek answers because it finally dawned on how fragile life truly is. It also opened my eyes to how best one can live.

Let’s paint life in a portrait. If life could be a flower, it blossoms in its time, and gradually, as the music of time plays, it begins to wither; at the end of its span, it’s dry and gone. It’s also possible that a flower is plucked out by a passerby or even the wind. Unfortunately, a flower could grow on the wrong soil, and because it lacked adequate nutrients and protection, its death is hastened.

Such is life; We are surrounded by lives even more temporarily than ours: We and people who make up our fragile circle. As the music of time keeps playing, we fall off one after the other leaving behind those awful gaps in our memories for those who would still fail.

Life is so beautiful yet fragile, so If the fragility of life stares us so much in the face, what then must one do, and how best can one utilize energy:

LIVE IN MOMENT

There are no assurances we have today; in fact, we have this exact moment; tomorrow is not guaranteed. The best way to utilize and enjoy life, however, is to first live in the moment. Learn to be in the present, enjoy and take note of the small things happening around you- things such as nature. Doing this in our current twenty-first-century lives, it’s not easy. There’s always something coming up that we need to prepare for or anticipate, and our lives are so well-documented that it’s never been easier to get lost in the past.

However, when we are aware and present, we don’t need to worry about getting caught up in thoughts of our past or anxiety about our future—we can revisit our history and anticipate what is to come without losing ourselves.

BE GRATEFUL

There’s no happier person than a person who is genuinely grateful and content. When you recognize every little thing life has blessed you with, learn to be thankful, not in comparison to others but to be genuinely thankful out of introspective recognition.

Be full of gratitude now and then. When you are grateful, it will make you recognize the blessings around you and appreciate life at the moment.

BUILD YOUR DREAMS

What is passionate about? Your passion is a lead way to your dreams and achieving that alone guarantees fulfillment. How can you know your love? It all starts with self-assessment; self-assessment involves understanding yourself better by learning things about yourself, including your talents, hobbies, etc. With this awareness, you can develop your passions and get a clearer vision of what you need to do. Once you’ve defined your dream, focus on it entirely. Why is this important? When we are no more, we definitely would want to be remembered, and that’s basically why we have to strive to plant our footprints on the sands of time, leaving generations to come something to remember us for.

MAINTAIN HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS

It’s believed that the quality of our life — emotionally, physically, and mentally — is directly proportional to the quality of our relationships, and I agree. This is not about knowing many people. Instead, it’s about having a genuine connection, caring about people, and having them care about you in return. Every relationship we have can teach us something, and by building positive relationships with others, we will be happier and more fulfilled and feel more supported, supportive, and connected. This is integral to maximizing this fragile life. Man is a product of influence, and we are directly or indirectly a reflection of the kind of people we have in our lives.

MAXIMIZE TIME

As already established, we do not have forever. All we have now is what we have. We are to redeem time and utilize every passing second because the next is not guaranteed. Do not put till tomorrow what you should do now. Write that book you have in mind, sing that song, talk to that friend, spend time with the people you care about. Don’t leave those dreams you have in your head like a dream.

The average man says time is money. Well, that’s at a very mundane perspective to evaluate time. Time is of higher value than cash; money lost can be regained, but time gone is forever gone. Time is proportionate to life itself; time is what we live, our time stops when we die.

Time management and mastery are establishing priorities with an improved attitude. It is more like you take a glance at all you intend to do, analyze, prioritize them, and the following suit within a short period.

The ability to maximize your time is your decision, and it starts with a definition, a definition of what you want to do with your life. Therefore time management, just like every other option in life, is a choice. And you can do this by seeking a better way, not the shortcut way but the better ways to achieving your aims.

Time management is a skill, and it is basically because it can be acquired. Every gift is learnable and time management remains the most indispensable human skill that every purpose-driven individual must acquire.

Bear in mind that in less than 150 years, everyone currently alive would most likely not be.

If we genuinely view life as it is- we are more likely to live our best.
