Set in a beautiful, Italian landscape, of which we have seen footage of coastal town Sapienza (see trailer below), the player must retake control of master assassin Agent 47 in order to successfully take down contracted targets. The level design takes a step away from Hitman: Absolution’s linear nature to instead feature sandbox levels more akin to Hitman: Blood Money. This means that each level will be a kind of open world in which to explore, as well as carrying out the mission parameters of course.

The game will cost $59.99 and will include all launch content; 6 campaign missions, 3 sandbox locations, 40 signature kills, contracts mode with over 800 targets and weekly live events and hits. The price also gains you access to all post-launch content that will be released in April, May, and June.

However, there is also an alternate price of $34.99 which nets you the launch content ONLY. All post launch add-ons must be purchased separately at the cost of $29.99. This is slightly confusing but offers gamers who are perhaps a little strapped for cash an alternative.

Hitman is scheduled for a digital-only launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on 11th, March 2016 - release details for physical retail copies have not been confirmed but will arrive sometime later in 2016.
