From start to finish, it was a brilliant show that featured a lot of compelling characters, along with a relatively complex yet very engaging story. With that said, it’s pretty much a given that a series about ninjas would have some pretty badass characters. After all, how can a ninja be anything but badass? And no, a certain Fortnite streamer doesn’t count. So to dig deeper into Naruto, let’s look at some characters who should be considered top-tier when it comes to being sheer unadulterated badasses.
5. Might Guy
Might Guy is the epitome of hard work, dedication, and youth (or at least he thinks so). He’s the kinda guy who’s brave and confident enough to make Kakashi his eternal rival, despite being abysmally untalented when it comes to ninjutsu. Not that he let any handicaps ever get in his way though. Despite his woes, he’s always cheerful and always with a smile on his face. Naturally, Guy’s unbreakable will and psyche also extend to the battlefield where he truly excels – again, despite having little to-no-aptitude for ninjutsu whatsoever. After all, this is the very same guy (hah) who made Uchiha Madara admit he was “The Strongest” with his Taijutsu.
4. Minato Namikaze
Minato, a.k.a. “The Yellow Flash” has all the right traits that constitute a legitimately badass character. Let’s list off a few things, shall we? First, he’s the main character’s father and the Fourth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. He’s also the fastest character in the series, handsome, cool, fashionable, and is married to one of the most terrifying and powerful women in the series. Seriously, I can go on and on with this guy. And very few characters can even touch Minato in regards to how badass yet aesthetic his moves are. What can I say? He makes being a badass look so darn easy!
3. Senju Hashirama
Speaking of characters making things look easy, how about Senju Hashirama — the very first Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. He was born a talented shinobi, and is well-versed in all Five Nature Elements of Chakra – especially in the Wood release, which is a combination of his Water and Earth releases. Now that I think about it, he’s basically Might Guy’s polar opposite. But despite his very obvious gifts, Hashirama still trained hard to be the very best. And it shows, as his feats are equally as utterly insane and ridiculous as his rival’s. From straight-up bullying Kurama to tanking city-leveling attacks without even breaking a sweat, it’s no surprise that he’s just about the only shinobi that Uchiha Madara respects.
2. Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi is undoubtedly one of the most badass characters in the series. And he’s been enjoying the spotlight ever since the earlier episodes of Naruto. Even from way back then, he was consistently shown as one of the most feared shinobi from Konoha. And there’s no question that his reputation precedes him. He was an ANBU operative, the youngest Chunin to ever graduate from the academy, and is widely known as the “Copycat Ninja” who copied over a thousand ninjutsu. Sure he might not be as strong as the other protagonists or villains like Kaguya and Madara. But he just always seems to have a trick up his sleeve to level the playing field. Plus there’s no denying that his mask and his two (formerly) uneven eyes pretty much add an air of mystery to his already BA character design.
1. Uchiha Madara
Some of you probably knew this dude would be here. I mean, how could he not be? The Uchiha Clan is home to several of the most badass characters in Naruto. And Madara, being their ancestor and all, is the perfect example of this. Why, you ask? Well let’s put things into perspective. For one, this incredibly based madman is so strong and dangerous that it took the legendary Senju Hashirama to stop him when he made his move. From then on, he became the mastermind behind almost every plot that transpired in the series. More importantly, he almost won in the end, if it weren’t for Black Zetsu’s interference. And of course, let’s not forget Madara’s memorable clashes which include — but are not limited to — his battle with the Five Kages, with Naruto and Sasuke, and with the entire Shinobi Alliance. All of which he won mostly just by himself. Sheesh! See what I mean?
